Looking for a Christ-centered college or seminary that fits your life?
Welcome to Areopagus Bible College & Seminary! We're a non-profit, private, multi-denominational Christian institution passionate about making quality Christian education and ministry training affordable and accessible—especially for adult learners answering the call to grow in their faith and calling.
Whether you're preparing for pastoral ministry, deepening your theological understanding, or pursuing discipleship and evangelism training, we're here to walk that journey with you.
We offer instruction in both English and Spanish, and our campus is located in the beautiful coastal city of Ventura, California—right on the sunny southern California coast.
Areopagus is made up of three distinct but united schools:
The Undergraduate School of Bible and Theology
The School for Ministry Development
The School for Evangelism and Discipleship
Together, they form one mission: to equip you to live out the gospel, lead with conviction, and serve with excellence.

Where we are today
Rev. Angel Ruiz has been faithfully serving in ministry since 2006 and currently leads with heart and vision as the Dean of Students at Areopagus Bible College & Seminary in Ventura County, California. He also serves as the Lead Pastor of Wave of Grace Ministries, where he continues to shepherd, equip, and encourage the Body of Christ.
Rev. Ruiz brings a wealth of experience to both the classroom and the pulpit. Before helping launch Areopagus, he served as Dean of Summit Bible College and Director of Instituto Bíblico de San Diego. As a professor of theology and biblical studies, he’s passionate about defending the Christian faith in a world full of questions—teaching students not just what to believe, but why.
Over the years, he has served in many roles—from youth pastor to evangelistic apologist—and even participated in several live, moderated academic debates during his college years, engaging difficult theological questions head-on with grace and clarity.
Today, he lives in beautiful Southern California with his two wonderful children, Naomi and Peter—his greatest blessings and daily inspiration.
